Rome has opened the doors to the very square where the infamous assassination of Julius Caesar took place. According to historical accounts, on March 15th 44 BC, the Roman Republic senators carried out the ruthless act at Largo di Torre Argentina, stabbing the legendary ruler no less than 23 times.

Until recently, this renowned archaeological site in the heart of the Italian capital could only be admired from outside, at street level. However, thanks to a new walkway sponsored by the prestigious fashion brand Bulgari, visitors can now descend to the level of the ancient ruins. Admission fee will cost 5,00€ for non-residents of the city.

The archaeological site is made up of four temples, which were excavated during the 1920s. Beyond its historical significance, the area is also popular for serving as a sanctuary for cats, with dozens of them roam amidst the ancient ruins.
