🚨 Dublin Airport now allows up to 2 litres of liquids & electronics stay in bags

What’s Changed:

From midnight on 18 September 2025, Dublin Airport has introduced sweeping changes to its security screening procedures across both terminals:

• Passengers no longer need to remove liquids, gels, or electronics (like laptops) from their hand luggage at security.

• The old 100 ml / container rule has been replaced. You can now carry liquids, gels, and pastes in containers up to 2 litres each, with no need for clear plastic bags.

• There is no limit on the number of liquid/gel containers you can carry, so long as each individual item is at most 2 litres.

These changes are possible due to Dublin Airport Authority’s (DAA) investment in about 30 new “C3” security scanners, which use CT-style 3D imaging technology — similar to what hospitals use — to better detect what’s inside bags without needing to empty them.

👍 What Passengers Should Know

• Items like belts, oversized jackets, hoodies, footwear above the ankle, etc., still need to be removed and placed in the security tray. Keys, wallets, phones from pockets still must be taken out.

• These more relaxed rules apply only departing from Dublin. If your return flight is from another airport, those rules may still require the old restrictions, depending on whether that airport has similar scanner tech. Always check ahead.
