Ibiza 7-Day Itinerary – What to See and Do in 1 Week

Ibiza may be a small island, but it packs a punch when it comes to offering a diverse range of experiences that make it more than worthy of a week-long (or even longer) visit. With seven whole days to play with, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the island’s vibrant cities, soak up the sun on its many stunning beaches, and even take a two-day excursion to the neighboring island of Formentera.

So without further ado, here are the cities, beaches, and attractions that you simply can’t miss on our Ibiza 7-day itinerary:

Ibiza 7-Day Itinerary – Day 1: Ibiza Town

Welcome to Ibiza, the island known for its lively party scene and stunning beaches! If you’re planning to visit, be sure to make Ibiza Town your first stop. This capital is considered the main city on the island, as well as the most beautiful, with its fabulous historic center. Known as Dalt Vila, this is a block enclosed by fortifications built 500 years ago, preserving all the ancient-old architecture, marked by whitewashed facades, narrow streets and many viewpoints with fabulous views over the port area. To enter the Old Town, you’ll cross the Portal de ses Taules, the main gateway to Dalt Vila, where you can then climb to the Castle of Ibiza and subsequently explore the seven different towers scattered throughout the defensive wall. If you’re short on time, don’t miss the chance to visit the Bastion of Santa Lucia, where you can still see where all the ammunition, explosives and gunpowder were stored. Lastly, we leave you with nothing less than the star of the show: the imposing Cathedral of Ibiza, with its austere facade and privileged location with panoramic views over the surroundings.

After your morning adventure in Dalt Vila, it’s time to head to the coast! One of the best beaches to visit is D’en Bossa Beach, located less than 3 km south of the historic center. It’s officially the longest beach on the island, and also the liveliest, with many bars, restaurants and ambient music. If you’re looking to experience the famous Ibiza nightlife, then you’ll definitely want to check out Ushuaïa, one of the most reputable nightclubs in Ibiza, which is located in the vicinity of this beach.

First day wrap-up:

  • Dalt Vila
  • Portal de ses Taules
  • Ibiza Castle
  • Santa LLucia Bastion
  • Cathedral of Ibiza
  • D’en Bossa Beach
  • Ushuaïa

Ibiza 7-Day Itinerary – Day 2: Santa Eulalia

If you travel just 15 kilometers north from the capital, you’ll leave behind the hustle and bustle and arrive in Santa Eulalia, one of Ibiza’s top family-friendly destinations. Considering just how peaceful it is, it’s hard to believe this is actually the third largest city on the island! Aside from the charming historic center, Santa Eulalia boasts a delightful promenade and a beach area to match. While you’re in the area, don’t forget to climb Mount Puig for breathtaking views of the city and the coastline.

However, and should you be in search of the finest beaches in the region, we recommend heading a bit further north. Your first stop should be Cala Pada, a true hidden gem in the shape of an underdeveloped cove, far from the crowds you’d find in most other beaches across Ibiza. Reaching the northeastern tip of the island, you’ll find Cala Pou des Lleo, a crescent-shaped bay protected by cliffs that feels just like paradise, offering perfect conditions for snorkeling. Finally, make sure to head to Torre Valls to watch one of the most unforgettable sunsets in Ibiza.

Second day wrap-up:

  • Santa Eulalia
  • Mount Puig
  • Cala Pada
  • Cala Pou des Lleo
  • Valls Tower

Ibiza 7-Day Itinerary – Day 3: Portinatx and the North of Ibiza

Today, we will visit the unexplored and undervalued North coast of Ibiza, perhaps the island’s best kept secret. Our journey starts in Portinatx, a small town that serves as the starting point for one of the best local hikes. However, don’t get too scared at the thought of completing a full hike, as the trail is only 3km long and takes you through charming farms and forests, offering stunning views of the sea and the natural bays along the coast. At the end of the path, you’ll find the Lighthouse of Punta d’es Moscarter, dramatically perched on a cliff.

After backtracking your footsteps to Portinatx, it’s time to hit the road and head to quaint Sant Joan de Labritja, a tiny village which stands as a prime example of the many historic towns scattered throughout Ibiza. Spend an hour strolling around the village’s charming streets, admiring the architecture and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. As the afternoon approaches, it’s time to hit the beach and discover one of the most beautiful coves in Ibiza: Cala Benirrás. Located near San Miguel, this beach is surrounded by lush greenery and turquoise waters, making it one of the most beautiful in Ibiza. If you’re feeling adventurous, head to the nearby Caverna de Can Marçà (10,50€), a fascinating natural wonder filled with stunning stalactites and stalagmites that look like they’re straight out of Jurassic Park. Funny enough, it used to serve as a stashing place for smugglers and bootleggers back in the day!

Third day wrap-up:

  • Portinatx
  • Lighthouse of Punta d’es Moscarter
  • Sant Joan de Labritja
  • Cala Benirrás
  • Cave of Can Marçà

Ibiza 7-Day Itinerary – Day 4: San Antonio

Officially called Sant Antoni de Portmany, the second-largest city on the island is famous for its vibrant nightlife. But before we dive into the party scene, let’s start the day with a visit to the stunning Cala Comte, a wonderful beach just 10 km away from San Antonio. Despite staying (for now) under the radars of mass tourism, this beach is a true natural wonder, with crystal-clear waters, secluded coves and small islets dotting the horizon. You can even explore the surrounding nature by taking one of the several accessible hiking trails in the surrounding area.

Back in San Antonio, the rest of the day is yours to spend at your leisure. While it may not be the prettiest town on the island, it’s certainly one of the liveliest, and a great spot to experience Ibiza’s iconic nightlife and its temptations. Make sure to check out the legendary Café del Mar, a living symbol of the city and the perfect spot for people-watching and soaking up the vibe. Lastly, if you’re up for another night of partying, head to Eden Ibiza, one of the island’s top and most well-known clubs.

Fourth day wrap-up:

  • Cala Comte
  • Sant Antoni de Portmany
  • Café del Mar
  • Eden Ibiza

Ibiza 7-Day Itinerary – Day 5: The Beaches of the Western Coast

For your fifth and final day on the island of Ibiza proper, you’ll be exploring the famous western coast, known for its collection of absolutely stunning beaches that look like something straight out of a postcard. Starting from San Antonio, your first stop of the day will be Cala Tarida, an ideal destination for families with young children, as the tide tends to be shallow and the waves next to non-existent. Along the coast, you can swim to some of the hidden rocks for a more private and secluded sunbathing experience.

A little further south, you’ll also find Cala Jondal, possibly the most popular beach among the upper-crust and the jet set crowd, thanks to its natural bay with perfect conditions for anchoring private yachts. Aesthetically, Cala Jondal stands out with its extensive sandy beach surrounded by cliffs and trees, earning a few extra points for being located relatively close to Ibiza Town. Before returning to the capital, you’ll make a final stop at Ses Salines. Located in a nature reserve, this beach has a completely different atmosphere from any other, offering the perfect combination of convenience and seclusion. Due to the salt flats nearby, you’ll notice that the water is substantially saltier, making it easier to float.

Fifth day wrap-up:

  • Cala Tarida
  • Cala Jondal
  • Ses Salines

Ibiza 7-Day Itinerary – Day 6: The North of Formentera and San Francisco Javier

As your time on Ibiza draws to a close, it’s time to bid farewell to the island and set sail for Formentera, the neighboring paradise of peace and tranquility. Don’t worry, your adventure is far from over! Once you’ve settled in, you’ll have two full days to explore this beautiful oasis and escape the “movida” of Ibiza’s techno music and bright lights. On your first day in Formentera, head to the north and start your journey with a visit to the picturesque Trucador Peninsula. You won’t want to miss the incredible Ses Illets Beach, with its long stretch of sand that extends out into the sea, creating a unique look that rivals some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Nearby, be sure to check out the Llevant Beach, especially if you’re a fan of surfing or extreme sports. This beach has some of the best waves in all of the Balearic Islands. In the background, you’ll notice the Ses Salines National Park, with its pink or violet-colored lagoons and a variety of bird species, including the ever-popular flamingos.

In the afternoon, give your body a break from the sea and spend some time exploring Sant Francesc Javier, the charming capital of Formentera whose ancient streets and white-washed houses are adorned with colorful bougainvillea. Be sure to visit the San Francisco Javier Church and the Chapel of Sa Tranca Vella, and don’t miss the chance to climb the iconic Windmills of Sa Mirada. These iconic landmarks are some of the most recognizable symbols on the island, offering breathtaking views of Formentera, the Port of La Savina and even the coast of Ibiza in the distance.

Sixth day wrap-up:

  • Ses Illets Beach
  • Llevant Beach
  • Ses Salines National Park
  • Sant Francesc Javier
  • Chapel of Sa Tranca Vella
  • San Francisco Javier Church
  • Windmills of Sa Mirada

Ibiza 7-Day Itinerary – Day 7: The Southeast of Formentera and La Mola

We’ve reached your last day of this amazing adventure! But before you head back home, you have one last chance to explore what was left unseen of Formentera before the inevitable 30-minute ferry ride back to Ibiza. This time, for a memorable farewell, you’ll venture out to the southeast of the island, but not without first visiting at least one of its 4 famous watchtowers, built originally as part of a defensive structure/strategy. For a matter of convenience, we recommend visiting the Sa Punta Prima Watchtower, located near the charming town of Pujols.

Next up, you will then head to the southeastern coast, where you’ll explore some of Formentera’s dreamiest and still relatively untouched beaches, including the popular Migjorn Beach, Calo des Mort and Es Arenals Beach. Finally, to end your adventure on a high note, you’ll visit the La Mola Lighthouse, where you’ll be rewarded with one of the most breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. On the way, we suggest stopping by the La Mola Market, a delightful hippie market where you can do some last-minute shopping and grab a few souvenirs before making your way back home.

Seventh day wrap-up:

  • Sa Punta Prima Watchtower
  • Migjorn Beach
  • Calo des Mort
  • Es Arenals Beach
  • Hippie Market of La Mola
  • La Mola Lighthouse
